Pöstlingberg Schlössl

I have known this place for more years than I care to remember.The occasion this time was my mother’s birthday in a small family gathering and I flew-in from London for the event..Sadly, a Novembers evening especially when raining is not the best time to enjoy a view nevertheless the restaurant, food and ambiance more than compensated.If you enjoy traditional yet upmarket well-presented food, good service, and like an unrushed atmosphere then this surely must be on top of your list.I give it full marks.

The restaurant is atop the hill above Linz and the view in the evening is spectacular.The food was excellent from beginning to end! The service was also very good with attentive staff that were quite friendly and eager to to a good job.The tram ride to the hilltop offered different views of Linz and being able to ride and not worry about driving allows you to take them in.Everything about the evening was terrific.

We visited this place with some of our colleagues from our seminar. It is just a 15-20 min drive from our hotel (Arcotel Nike).The weather up there was nice and cool with a pleasant breeze flowing. Along with this we also had a great view of the city.The restaurant present here also is very good with great ambience for the price.Overall a recommended place for anyone passing through Linz.

A castle on the top of Linz with a nice view of the city. Elegant restaurant with traditional Austrian plates. Try of course the Wienerschnitzel and some of the soups. We were there in winter, but in summer there is an interesting beer garden with the view.

When in Linz, make sure this is part of your visit. Go there with the Pöstlingbergbahn leaving from Hauptplatz. The church is really pretty and from the platform you have a great view over the city.
