Poppies Fish And Chips Camden

Out of whole bunch of fish listed, had only cod, haddock and plaice at on saturday! At the counter were women. One seemed to actually care about her job, the other one seemed like a spoilt child that was forced to work...by her parents. I am not quite sure how exactly can somebody fail such a simple meal but... They managed it. They truly have. My girlfriend wanted some fish and chips after a walk down the canal and she said she had never tried this place. We had haddocks. None of us finished our portions and it surely wasn't because of the size it was simply disgusting. Chips were times refried fish tasted like something that was bought from iceland and left on the sun to thaw for the next days... And then got dumped in the batter (which, was literally tasteless... The only flavour it had was from the copious amount of smelly oil) and fried. Used fanta, ipa and rum&coke to wash down the disgusting aftertaste and still failed. Was burping up that disgusting stuff for hours after. You have somebody you really hate? Take them there.

Called in for lunch while visiting here with my daughter’s new in-laws from America. This was an early visit prior to going shopping and we were the first people in the restaurant. We had told them how good it is here and it didn’t disappoint. Food and service was perfect, as we were talking to the manager we Explained that our daughter only got married last week and we were showing her new family around London. Upon hearing this a plate was brought out with, pickled egg, Gurkin and pickled onion etc for them to try which was so kind. Also our daughter and son in law where also given a poppies baseball cap, mug and coaster plus our grandsons were supplied with a paper chefs hat. Now if that was enough on top of the great fish and chips we had just eaten the manager supplied us with a complementary Lemon cello drink to try. To say that they went above and beyond would be an understatement, the food and service couldn’t be faulted, well worth a visit and we cant wait to go back again.

So we were at Camden Market, wondering which one of dozens of exotic food options to go for, but decided on good old-fashioned fish and chips instead. Good decision! The food was perfect, portions generous and value for money excellent, but we also found the...decor interesting, with impressive professional attention to detail, and the whole place is absolutely spotless. But best of all was the genuinely friendly staff and superb, efficient service.

Good fish and chips, very nice beer on draft. Took a small party of people in here, everyone was happy
