My wife and I have gone to Posillipo in Canterbury in the last seven years, and at that time no other institution could pamper their domination as our favorite restaurant in the city. All reviewers who complain about the quality of food (especially pizzas and homemade pasta dishes) are most likely not used to authentic Italian cuisine. As a man of Italian descent (and with the wholehearted agreement with my real Italian friends in Canterbury), I keep that Posillipo offers the best, most authentic Italian food in the area. As with real Italian restaurants, the menu is also very cheap. The staff is great to always make my wife and I feel like honored guests to look attentive to our needs, and never feel rushed in any way. The restaurant is conveniently located in the centre of the city, near the Cathedral and the Marlowe Theatre. In short, I cannot recommend this facility enough, and I always find it difficult to understand why someone would give up Posillipo for one of the medium (best) pseudo-Italian chains that populate high street.
