Admittedly, although I am what I would consider a frequent diner at Prairie Ink for dinner, I have never been for lunch; and in light of this visit, will think twice before going again. Or perhaps it's a different cook during the day. And I say cook, because certainly not a chef at the helm on this visit. Both my companion and I chose the soup of the day "chicken and leek" as our side and not only were there no leeks, it bore neither taste or look of chicken. It was loaded with carrots and celery and definitely beef. When we asked our waitress she disappeared and returned saying it was dark chicken meat. Sorry, but no.My open faced "special" chicken sandwich was tasteless and the chicken breast over-cooked. The tourtiere as much better but I suspect it is frozen and only needs to be reheated in the oven, not "created" at the time.Considering how much I enjoy this restaurant for dinner I am in disbelief at the difference.
