As a 20-year expat in San Sebastian, Punta Sal is a GREAT new addition to the food scene here. Opened by Kenji, who also runs the best sushi spots in town, Punta Sal brings in a bit of a Japanese/Peruvian fusion style with nice ambiance. All of the food is of excellent quality, and I like the ambiance. We're very happy for this addition to the San Sebastian gastronomic scene. It is highly recommended!
We thought we would end up eating pintxos (white bread with jamon, cheese or fish on top) for the rest of our holidays. Culture in San Sabastian doesn't offer too many options for healthy AND top quality food, but we were so glad when some local girl recommended us Punta Sal. Fish-lovers and meat-lovers: you won't be disappointed!!!
Gros is an increasingly popular area in San Sebastian and this restaurant is a very good example of what to expect there. They serve very nyce nikkei/sushi food, which is not usual at all in this small city, and they do it very well. Good for dinner and lunch, but also to try some pintxos .
I wasn't too sure about the idea of a Peruvian/Japanese hybrid, but we ended up visiting three times in two days. Numerous interesting dishes, and the lunchtime menu is outstanding value. Would highly recommend.
