We sought out this restaurant after learning it is owned by Jean-Christophe who runs the Manufacture in Issy les Moulineaux. It is housed in an old railway station building sitting above the Meudon tram stop. So we literally walked up the stairs from the platform and into the restaurant. He has imaginatively converted the ground and first floors into inside dining, and the roof into outdoor dining. We were lucky on a warm sunny day to sit there. Other diners were mostly local business people having the 3 course lunch at €26. We eschewed that and I opted for snails to start, and delicious soft quenelles with rice to follow. I finished with a nice tarte tatin. We were almost alone in having a bottle of wine.I give this place 5/5 for its super location, conversion, food and service. A real find.Loos were on 1st floor and we'll maintained.We intend to return
The Quai de Meudon opened earlier in 2015 after a long building project. They have done a very nice job transforming a former train station on the tram line. They have opened a mezzazine level plus a roof top terrace. As each level is quite small, the place feels quite intimate. On the food side it is a bit of a let down. You'll pay 50 for lunch and while they have a few nice dishes like the avocado crab started, I do not find the menu choices very interesting and overall the food is overpriced for what it is. The wait staff are friendly but not very efficient (they need to get a bit better organised).
An old, rundown train station has been completely renewed and now hosts one of the best restaurants in the area. The atmosphere is created by old photos of the place and memorabilia related to the train line. At lunch there is a menu available, and otherwise you can choose from meat and fish positions. The food is tasty and portions big - do not count on having the desert if you already had starter and the main): Their pumpkin soup is a must as well as the fish carpaccio.
Our office is just up the road from this restaurant, we went here to celebrate a number of business successes. We had a nice two course meal at a set price. Service was good and location couldn't be better. There are 2 floors, I guess they must have a lot of customers at time and serve larger audiences. Would certainly go back for decent quality food.
