We went to Ray's on a slow weeknight. The food came out quickly, and we noticed there were two extra slices included. My wife had ordered one, my son two, and I got a chicken parm sandwich (chicken was ok, sandwich was ruined by the roll being burnt). I checked the bill and saw I was charged for five slices. As I walked toward the counter to straighten out the discrepancy, one of the apron guys came out and asked what was wrong. He proceeded to try convincing me that the extra two slices were provided because all the slices they had left were small; he said they were making up for three small slices with two extra slices. But you're charging me for them, it says 5 slices on the bill and we only ordered 3, I said. No, it's to make up for the small slices, he repeated. Eventually I gave up when I realized we were one rational guy short of a rational conversation. Haven't gone back since. Broadway Pizza in Westwood is a lot better anyway, which I might not have found out had my experience at Ray's been better. So thanks, Ray's!
