Red Lion - Tisch reservieren

I had booked a table for 8, my wife and I, my 4 grandchildren and their mothers. A last pre-Xmas get-together. My wife had an appointment at 2.30. I booked for 12.15. First, still no drinks 20 minutes after ordering. I had to go to reception to hurry them along. We ordered our main courses. Which did not then arrive till getting on for 2!! And after I had questioned the delay!! My wife left at 2.10 with no desert. After attracting the waitress our remaining deserts were ordered but my daughter and her children had to leave before they arrived. Leaving just 4 of the 8. 3 hours in all to get two courses and to pay?? What a disastrous lunch! The excuse? We are understaffed. Where was the management? Or apology? Good food could not make up the complete failure of the day. Our last meeting before Xmas ruined. This came after the fiasco of our Sunday lunch booking in November, see below. We just cannot trust them again with a family gathering.

Arrived for our table booking where multiple workers didn 't acknowledge us. We then ordered our drinks, 20minutes later still waiting for WATER my partner went to the bar and got them himself (to which at the end she still charged us and they never came!! . After waiting to order food(30minutes after the drinks we then waited a further 50 minutes for our food! My partners 5yr child even made a comment are we just here to wait . We asked for colouring for the children, to which we saw the same waitress serving multiple other people so we went and got this ourselves too! The nachos I ordered were an absolute waste of money (some crisps and minimal cheese with some tomatoes, chillie and onion and sour cream (thats literally it, absolutely NOT loaded . The children 's food was hot, probably the only good thing here. Just to add, the pub was barely full. Will not be coming back.

Walked in, ignored at the bar, people waiting to be seated in the Restaurant, generally speaking a cold unfriendly atmosphere. Not the first time, went for breakfast in November (at 10.28 am to be precise), only to be gleefully informed I missed breakfast, closes at 10.30 ! Why?????? you dont serve lunch for another hour at least. The place is good value moneywise if you get to eat there, but then again so is the Harvester and its the complete opposite to here. Last 2 visits I have left without eating..........

Went for fish n chips and it was absolutely vile, the fish had already been cook then re fried, full of grease as well as the chips. How can they dish meals like this up. You can clearly see the batter has been well over cooked. Returned it back to the bar. Went there in the summer and had exactly the same and the manager said he would have a word with the chef, clearly they are still dishing the same up. Won’t be returning

Lovely meal out, simple food, good value for money. Matthew was our waiter and made it a pleasant experience.
