We booked a table for 10 people for lunch on April 13, 2017. When we arrived at the restaurant and saw the portion of the food from other tables, we decided among ourselves that we would share the food as each dish was extremely big. However, the waitress insisted that we must order one by one; no sharing was allowed. So we decided to leave the place as there was no way that we could finish our food if we were to order the food as forced by the restaurant. 1. Sharing might be the thing for Asian in the past but it's for the wider audiences nowadays.2. 10 of us were on the vacation trip since April 7, 2017 starting from Frankfurt. Imaging how many restaurants we have been through including a couple Michelin ones. Not a single problem!3. For Ribeauville, we finally settled down for lunch at Hotel-Restaurant Du Mouton. The food, the service and the staff were excellent.So for Restaurant Aux Trois Chateaux, very disappointed and not recommended!
This was recommended by the receptionist at our campsite, during our motorhome holiday. We walked down - 10 minutes if you're 21 but rather longer if you're pasy 75 as my ot her half is. It was a nice walk though - and on the way home we walked the food down - great. Some of the dishes are HUGE, especially the speciality - choucroute. We had the very well priced menus - fish for me and wiener schnitzel for him. Deserts are restricted to ice cream, so we had cheese, an excellent local Munster. Three courses for €21 and wine very reasonably priced. Brilliant.
Family run restaurant and hotel, nice terrace, quiet at the far end of the village. We were a group of three with a baby and got a seat on the terrace. We arrived early 1900, but the remaining seats filed up quickly. Local food available, but also international dishes. Portions are huge, prices reasonable. Good selection of local wines. We really enjoyed our food and the service was excellent.
This restaurant aims at giving you the local experience with a gourmet plus. Do not miss the 'choucroute royale' if you are not afraid to die under the quantity. We could not try more things as we were barely able to move, and we asked for doggy bag. It was truly excellent, but the waiters were either inexperienced or too busy to spend long time explaining the specialities. Woth it though.
