coming by bike from Passau (germania) and heading to vienna for the splendid cycle path of the danubio, we stopped in this charming hotel because drawn from its beautiful outdoor garden, traditional Austrian. in the shadow of a pergola we have gotten the famous radler (breast mixed with lemonade,) born from these parts precisely to dissect thirsty cyclists like us (radler in German means, in fact, cyclist.) dishes of the Austrian tradition dignified, friendly and helpful staff; not of quality, avoid it; expenditure according to expectations.
I stopped to sleep in mauthausen and in the evening I went to eat in this place. the waiter doesn't speak Italian even if I think he knows but he's smart! ate the Milanese cutlet to reduce it a sheet of paper, eaten only panatura. instead of boiled potatoes I asked for fried potatoes and asked me an extra euro. then as scandal I asked for bread and brought me 4 small sandwiches and had the courage to ask me € 1,10 per sandwich for a total of € 4,40 ( never happened in austria) allego lo clatrino. Go somewhere else!
large restaurant/brewery located on the banks of the danubio, just outside the historic center of Mauthausen. It has outdoor seating and a discreet parking. we ate typical dishes, prepared out of time meal, we entered the local at 3:00 however, unlike other restaurants here we were given the opportunity to have lunch and drink of the excellent beer at the plug. do not ask for dark beer because it is only available in bottle. The wine paper was also rich in proposals.
go to the donauhof again and again with my partner. for my taste, eating is excellent and it is time and again to find something on the map which the palate does not yet know. price performance is still in the green area. personal is very friendly and very attentive. I'm sure you're not sitting here with the empty glass! all top - as I find!
