A warm and efficient welcome for both booking and the meal. The restaurant is decorated simply and attractively. We had a the 14.50 euro lunch menu. The starter choices were a cassoulet the of monk fish with dill or a plate of charcuterie. We both had the monkfish and it was delicious. The main courses were chicken or duck. The duck breast came with couscous and vegetables. The cooking was as requested and it was tasty. We had some wine which wasn't expensive and water was brought without having to ask for it. There was then a choice of cheese or dessert. The cheese plate included salad and three types of cheese. The dessert was a sort of clafoutis with pineapple. Both were fine. Coffee was extra and came with tiny chestnut cakes and truffles. The service was cheerful and brisk and the whole experience was very pleasant. Although it was market day, the restaurant wasn't full. I think it would be a bit of a squash if every table was used.There was a nice atmosphere and they coped with our booking changes very calmly and well.
I was a bit sick and could not really enjoy everything but it was great, tasty, monstrous portion, nice personal, friendly welcome, a lot of choice. My wife took a salade Palombiere and could not eat half of it as it was so enormous. Just great for my next time when i am more in the mood
We stopped for lunch on our way from the Dordogne to Bordeaux.The atmosphere was really nice, the restaurant is located in front of a church so we got to see a wedding ceremony.Food wad very good , presented nicely and very generous. Service was really good!
Went to la palombiere again on a cold January Saturday evening. Food service and welcome just as good as ever. Really recommended. If a restaurant as good as this was in an English city the cost would be twice as much.
