Restaurant Le Continental

We were five people and a little dog for dinner at Le Continental, and had the most magnificent time, all thanks to our waiter, whose name I unfortunately don’t know (blond man who lived in Australia for four years). He was truly excellent, very attentive and pleasant, not too intrusive and not aloof, any restaurant would be lucky to have him! He even offered our little dog a bowl of water the moment we entered, such a lovely gesture. We ordered fish twice (very well prepared and cleaned of bones in our presence by the above mentioned waiter and his equally pleasant colleague), a great portion of steak frites (meat melting in your mouth) and two perfect tartars. The finishing touch of the latter dishes was us being offered to try the tartars in little tea spoons before they were served, in case we wanted any changes or additions. We had the classic and the Italian tartar, and can highly recommend this excellent dish. At the end, we shared a lovely cafe continental dessert (a platter with several sweets and a coffee) another delight (particularly the macaron, and I usually don’t like those overhyped creamy crackers). Go to Le Continental if you want to avoid disappointment and leave satisfied and serene!

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe von 16 Gästen aus der Schweiz und den USA zu Silvester im Continental. Die Kommunikation mit Sandra und Paul für die Buchung war sehr einfach und entgegenkommend. Das Essen und der Service waren ausgezeichnet. Wir hatten zwei Gäste mit Nahrungsmittelallergien und Paul nahm sich die Zeit, vor dem Abendessen mit ihnen Optionen zu besprechen und entsprechende Unterkünfte zu organisieren. Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit und können dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen! Vielen Dank, Paul und Sandra

We come here about once a month. The staff are very friendly and the place nice, modern and airy. For main I had steak and frites which was very good, steak cooked medium rare and the chips had a great flavour with a knob of herb butter. For desert we asked if they could do a cafe glacé which was not on the menu but the chef made us a great one : overall service great, food great well worth a visit if you are nearby…

4 of us came for lunch. It was a beautiful day so we sat on the balcony overlooking a small forrest. One of us has steak tartare which was excellent served with crispy fries. I had Sole Meunière served with mashed potatoes, also excellent full of flavour. We all shared a cafe Continental which is a mini version of a few desserts. Great food and atmosphere and well priced for the area…

I came here with my dad and a friend, we nearly always have menu of the day, todays menu was a potato salad starter followed by tortellini carbonara and a strawberry pudding. Food was excellent as always and cheap for Switzerland...
