We visited this excellent restaurant twice on the recommendation of local friends whose regular lunch stop it is and it certainly lived up to its reputation.The first time most us chose the plat du jour which was a substantial steak, well seasoned, served with crispy roast potatoes and a salad, followed by a choice of desserts. I chose off the a la carte menu and was intrigued to see what “Hake in a pastry case of Aioli, risotto in the Parmesan cheese and the broth of rocks” would turn out to be. It was delicious in every way. Our desserts too were excellent, a fabulous rum baba and an equally good pear crumble. On our second visit, our entire table choose the plat du jour which was beef ravioli. It was absolutely divine. The beef was unctuous and clearly had been slow cooked for ages to get all that flavour. The accompanied vegetables were just as good and the broth was heavenly. Desserts this time included homemade ice cream and a poached pear. Service was outstanding on both visits and prices really good. We will definitely go back next time we’re nearby.
Very happy to have chosen this restaurant passing by. We had no reservation and were immediately made to feel welcome and given a nice table for our family of four. The child's options on the menu satisfied our children and they even made up a delicious vegetarian dish up, off menu. I had the 35euro menu and the steak was excellent, along with crab to start and chocolate pudding for dessert. Service was very friendly and patient with speed of my French. All in all little more than excellent is needed to sum up the evening and would definitely recommend to both meat eaters and vegetarians.
This is a real surprise, a delightful restaurant with an outstanding menu de jour. We were amazed by the deliciousness of the ravioli au boeuf, and how unusual it was for a very reasonable price. It was slow cooked beef in ravioli, served in a wonderful reduced stock. This was followed by an excellent rhum baba, the sponge steeped in rhum syrup, perfect. Will certainly make the trip back, and possibly indulge in a night in the hotel to enjoy the dinner menu.
This restaurant serves typical french bistro dinner. It offers set menues at reasonable prices and those are preffered options amongst the customers and also in the kitchen. As we have our two kids at 5 & 9 years with us we choosw only a main. But we had to wait for an hour for our dishes while we could see all the tables with set dinners getting there dishes. The dinner was good but the wait overcame the quality of the dinner as the overall experience.
