Rigbys

Visiting relatives I’d heard about Rigbys in Liverpool city centre as our relatives weekly choice for a few beers. It seemed rude to turn down a visit. Near the main shopping areas the pub is a throwback to old bars of yesteryear. Wood and brick, small snugs and a massive courtyard all add to a great atmosphere. We spent a few hours there. Choices of real ale tried, Yellow Submarine and White Rat along with lagers Carling, Amstel and Blue Moon (optional slice of Orange). There was a constant stream of drinkers, the atmosphere was great and only a couple of tv screens showing sport to distract or watch. Toilets are down steep steps which on crutches were carefully negotiated. Prices were good and beer quality great. Staff welcoming and efficient. Lovely way to avoid shopping. Meals apparently are very nice too.

Nice wee pub, we'd visited the day before and sat in the courtyard. The night we had food the courtyard was full so we stayed inside. Food was ok, nothing exceptional, hubby has pizza and i had a small haddock chips, which was fine. The staff seemed a bit bored and we were a bit bemused when the waitress brought the food to our table then walked off. So we helped ourselves to cutlery, napkins, vinegar ketchup since we apparently weren't getting any... a man at another table saw us do this.. so he helped himself too! It was ok but we'd try somewhere else if we ever visit Liverpool again..

Went there today for lunch with a friend. Ordered chicken burger and chips, which has been nice in last couple of visits. Today it was just a piece of dry chicken breast which, after a couple of bites, put down. Weird taste ss well. Had the chips, which were ok. Paid £10. Not worth it. Why change the way the food was before? Laziness or different chef? However, lad behind bar was great, friendly.

Visited Saturday for a couple of drinks with friends and had a great experience, service was fast and all employees had a smile on their faces which was lovely to see! Sol looked after us majority of the evening and was a great laugh which encouraged us to stay longer and end our night there.

Outstanding food and customer service will be back again when we next visit Liverpool highly recommended this pub you are made to feel very welcome
