It 's not difficult to find something italian in Nurenberg, not at all: the city itself has a moltitude of cafes, bars and resturants, all with the brand made in Italy . Some of them (a few) are true, some others (the most) aren 't, but here we are talking about true Italy and as far as I could see this place is THE place for italian expats in Nurenberg. I wanted to go there for a coffee in the evening where the Cup of Germany Final was on air but I avoided after seeing the big crowd gathering there (it 's always like that during soccer matches, anyway). I came back on a hot wednesday afternoon, looking for some refreshment. The place is small but it is right in the city center, on the side of Hauptmarkt, cozy and with a true italian taste, dued to the owner, Paolo, raised in Germany but Italy born (Puglia, Brindisi to be precise). We sat outside and we have been welcomed by Paolo, the owner himself, with a bright smile and some attentive courtesy. I asked for two caffé freddo shakerato (shaken cold coffee), something normally I 'd never dare to order outside italian borders. They tasted excellent and we sat nearby a crowded table, where german (with a strong mediterranean accent) and italian were mixed up: not difficult to guess, italian expats relaxing after work. We sipped our coffees and then I went inside to pay, to the owner surprise when I start talking in italian. I was pretty happy that my ability to be incognito as italian in Germany still works. Normally the coffee is more expensive in Germany than in Italy, but the shaked cold coffee costed 3,5 Euros, which is the same price you may expect in Milan (in some cases in Milan it 's higher). In no time, as it 's common between italians, we were introduced to an italian habituée guest (he was at the table aside) and to a german man, who was very keen to speak some italian and some spanish or mixing up the two languages. I will be back soon, but the first impression of the place is great: big credit for that to Paolo, the owner. I didn 't check the whole list, but I will do in the next times and I will keep you updated; in the meantime, follow my advice...if you 're looking for some Italy, just go there and you won 't be disappointed! Highly recommended!
