Our friends took us to their favoite Thai place in Punta Gorda, Royal Thai, since they knew we liked Thai. It was busy enough we had to wait for a table and it stayed busy the whole time we were there. Two of us had Thai Ice Tea, which is always good. OOur friend both ordered soup and their meals, so they both had two kinds of soup, the ones they ordered and the daily soup that came with their meals. Needless to say, they both took some food home. My wife and I skipped ordering extra soup so our meals were just right in size. The daily soup had ground chicken in it and was very good. My wife ordered Pineapple Curry with chicken, medium spicy, and it came fairly mild. She stil liked it. I had Sweet Basil with pork, medium spicy and it had a bit of life, but now we know to order more spicy than normal here. I also enjoyed my meal. Service was good. We have had better Thai, but can believe this is the best locally.
We had been talking about tasting this restaurant for months and finally had the opportunity to do this with friends who wanted it. We were not disappointed. The food is fantastic and the staff is very friendly. By far the best Thai food we've ever had. Robert, our waiter, was great and the owner and cook, June, came to our table and actually sat down and talked to us about the health benefits of black sesame seeds. We recommend you to try.
Our waiter was a hot S*t and made the experience and the elections brilliant. We had the citrus pork fabulous and the Shanghai noodles also fabulous for our ducks and they were filled with fried pork dumplings and shrimps and chicken egg drop soup (free at night with a duck). This was our second time back and we plan to make this our favorite Thai restaurant. Prices are reasonable. Very recommended!!
It is undoubtedly the best Thai restaurant where we have eaten. We live in Lake Placid, so it's about an hour and half a ride for us. We can't eat as often as we like. The staff is excellent. Meals are fantastic, very tasteful. Ask the staff for suggestions if you are not familiar with the food. And trust them how sharp the food is! You have our wholehearted recommendation!
