Ordered Sake for the first time tonight from GrubHub for my family. We had the chicken katsu, salmon avocado rolls, shrimp shumai, edamame, and fried gyozas. Our food was decent overall. The chicken katsu came in a portion size that my hungry hubby was satisfied with and my 1 year old loved the edamame. The salmon avocado roll was also decent, tasting very fresh and nicely portioned with the contents appropriate in ratio to the rice (I hate when there's too much rice in sushi) and the shumai was what I expected from most places that serve it. For the price of the whole thing on GrubHub, our order came out to a whopping $76 (20% tip for driver and $6 delivery fee) which was very pricy for similar quality menu offerings at restaurants I've had elsewhere, although I've gotten more for less. The flavor didn't merit the higher price tag. They also forgot to give us soy sauce for the sushi. I can't knock it completely, because I thought it tasted decent, but I'd definitely think twice about ordering again with this price tag to another restaurant. *Update* After their response to my review, I've decided to knock it down another star. I find it baffling a restaurant would defend overpricing their food over upping its quality to make it worth the price they charge. I've eaten at plenty of other similar restaurants that not only offer similar if not better quality food, but quantity as well. Blaming delivery service charges isn't it. We use those same delivery services with other restaurants that don't use it as an excuse for overcharging. Your base prices are still too high.
SECURITY HERE! Just rude! We had an order 10/24/2022 for them today and we just got the order well over the delivery driver. The items were nicely packed and the food was still warm. We opened our shrimp fried rice and chicken fried rice to find that our rice was simply fried rice. We called the restaurant immediately and asked if it was a mistake and the young lady on the phone asked what I suspected to be the owner or chef? and she immediately said we lie! Then I heard the young lady say? Mimi gave two orders for Uber eats one with pure fried rice and the other with chicken and shrimp. Then she comes to the phone and tells me if I want me to get back there and she'll give it back. I said I couldn't at the moment, that was the whole reason for my order delivery. Then she tells me? And we? I don't know what else to tell you. I said you don't have to be so rude about your mistake! Some people are incredible. I usually love SAKE, and I usually order a few times a week there. Never again after you have been treated like that.
I'm HPU student and I've been there for four years. Every time I went, I was greeted with cordial greeting and I always brightened up. Her rolls and Hibachi lunch specialities are the perfect portions; and her dinner is to die. If you are looking for a perfect restaurant for family, friends, whoever, this is the place!
For the price, portion size, and the tastelessness. Just over 50.00 with a tip, it wasn't the waitresses fault. I should as add I had about two bits and my husband had one piece of his roll before I remembered to take some pics
