"We visited Lumio On a Wednesday, which is local produce market day, so it was quite busy (if you can say that). The cafe sits just above the market along from the church bell tower and restaurant and is traditional french cafe with a choice of drinks, snacks and meals and an outside patio area, which offers a fabulous view of the mountains, hills, beach and calvi. After some drinks, we continued up past la poste on the Av des Lauriers to follow the road around Lumio, once you have gone round the corner half way before you reach the tabac there are some steps in between two houses, at the top of these is a sign post to Lavatoghju a 1 hour 30 minute walk across the hills to the old town. This is a rocky and sometimes steep climb with loose stones but some of the views back to the coast and across the country are wonderful. Definitely worth a visit if you have the stamina and time."
