A Sicilian friend told me this is not real Italian. We, however, decided to decide for ourselves after having read a positive review in The Detroit Free Press. Having lived in Italy, I have a high bar for what constitutes 'real Italian '. This restaurant fell short. We had to ask to be served water after having been seated for ten minutes or so. A short time later, the waiter brought my husband 's beer first and my sparkling water close to 7 minutes after that. We had to ask for bread which our waiter told us was in the oven. When he brought it to us it was certainly not out of the oven it was room temperature. I was assured my pasta would be al dente. It was mushy. I told the waiter as much when he asked how our meals were. He offered to have another plate made but I declined. He took away my food barely eaten. I ordered gnocchi to go and asked for it to be ready by the end of our meal. He told me 'no problem ', yet, we had to wait a good 10 minutes to get it. It was not good. If you don 't know Italian and are starving and in a bind, do not order any pasta if you 're picky. Otherwise, pass; it 's the equivalent of Olive Garden. I don 't know anyone who works at or owns this restaurant. I 'm writing this on my own volition based on my experience.
