I do not often take the subway in london, which I too foot or, if it is a touch too far, on the bus. in zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance (big book) the car makes an excellent look into the idea that if they are on the car, they are a passive observer; the window radiates the world as if it were a show. the beauty of the ride with the foot (or in the example of the book, with the motorcycle) is that everything is tangible and for me I would not come over the half of the dinge that I would do if I were combed in the underground, would observe a black wall and whisper under such an amazing city. I have kept scavyer gray on the way of paulus in the eye, for what now looks like a year, and tried to look behind the washed-out windows and, with a hauch of luck on my day, it opened today with intentions to eat more and tasty on the table in the coming weeks. when I opened the door, hallo flattered and elated me a flat white ordered, I pulled a chair in the window that looked out on the street and chat with the wonderful friendly staff that told me eagerly that in the time the caffe could open late in the evening with food and wine. that was music to my ears in a city where I struggle to find the relaxed cafe culture that I loved so in barcelona close enough to my house and office. When you turn around the spatialities, it is clear to see this caffe that makes you feel so spacious as it is cozy, with tresssing that up to the open kitchen with inviting corners when you eat it brunch promises to be modern with all popular choices and of course there will be cake. I fed a piece of brownie that was perhaps the best I had for a long time while I was crispy outside, but inside soft with the occasional nutty crunch. ideal near highbury and islington station, this corner where the upper street meets st. paul’s street seems to be a destination of sorts for cafe lovers with maison d’etre, sawyer and gray and a Turkish teehouse on the way. that should keep the footfall satiated and lure others in the opposite, a bag of this so sought-after cafe culture, from which I dreamed if only the street was not so busy, I would like to see that this place spy on the pavement. for me and for now it's the perfect place to get coffee before they go on Saturdays into the daylight music in the union kapelle. when eating is as good as the service and the coffee, it is another victorious as a top recommendation on my Islington list, along with ez moss. they can be sawyer and gray on 290 st. paul’s road, islington, n12lh

highbury is perhaps not the most trendy quarter, with its busy last roads and dirty walks. but recently a large selection of unique restaurants and caffes have opened up in the opposite, making it feel a cute neighbourhood. sawyer and gray is a charming little spot, with bladdered wooden walls, with wooden and mix-matched chairs furnished and with random small objects such as an old pen, bladder boxes and an antique bike hanging on the deck. the mumford and sons music in the background perfectly complements the decor and makes them feel, they are in a hipster country house, which is a wonderful opportunity to escape the city for a few hours. I tried her flat white, which was pretty, but usually I think her menu is great. the brie, cranberry and speck sandwich is really delicious and they have healthy delicious breakfast options. the prices are really reasonable and they can sit here for hours, read or just chat with a friend. the baristas are very friendly and they pay great attention to the customers. it is never too crowded, there are always enough tables and you usually see the same people. it really feels like a neighboring coffee shop and it's really nice to spend time here.

Cheerful service, nice rustic interior and very accessible venue, just by a bus stop. Very good coffee served on a very nice cup and saucer. Ricotta cheesecake is highly recommended to accompany your cup of joe!
