We went a couple of times already to this restaurant and every time we had a quite good experience. The food is great, very good quality and although prices are in general high when going out in Switzerland, these were not exorbitant. Another time we went for some coffee and it was also great. The Caesar salad though its done in their style because the dressing was more like a cocktail sauce than a real Caesar salad. My recommendation to the place is don 't call it Caesar or called it Caesar our way but otherwise is misleading. The salad was still good. Two things that could really improve the overall experience: It is honestly completely out of place to charge even CHF 2 of parking to a family that just spent more than 500 CHF on a meal. We got our tickets validated and all, but still we got charged, it leaves a bitter flavor because of the fact, not because of the cost. I would suggest the restaurant to really change this as soon as possible. There is almost no cellular signal in the restaurant, so your phone doesn 't have any internet. In the year 2020 its not acceptable that the place doesn 't have Wi-Fi at all. Especially if cellular signal doesn 't reach properly. Nowadays Wi-Fi would also enable us to receive Calls from our cellular lines thanks to our devices being connected to the cellular network through Wi-Fi too (this is called Wi-Fi Calling). And then we can really enjoy the evening and don 't have to be worried that our older parents or kids with a nanny don 't have any issues. We had to go several times to the entrance to check that there were no issues as WhatsApp messages were not coming in. This is something so simple to implement in the year 2020 that its pretty sad that they do not have it.
Wir kamen zum Mittagessen in dieses wunderbare Restaurant direkt am See von Hallwyl mit Außen- und Innensitz. Alle Service-Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ein großes Menü und eine sehr große Liste von Weinen (über 400) inklusive gesunden veganen und vegetarischen Speisen. Alle Getränke und Essen kamen schnell und alles schmeckte einfach super. Especially service at this lakeside restaurant is impressive freshly prepared food on the table maybe five minutes after ordering on a really busy sunny weekend lunch hour. Their Knusperli are delicious fish and chips like battered pieces of white fish from the lake. Also available with a salad instead of chips.
Amazing views over the lake (and the Alps on a good day). they had a specific Asparagus menu for the season, and a great Orange Tiramisu as well. Veal was excellent, as was the fish. Absolutely as good as my last visit (several years ago)
