Schindle Grill - Restaurant Frohsinn

Restaurant Frohsinn is in the small village of Holderbank, about 30 km from Basel, Switzerland. It is a small restaurant with about 10 tables ... unfortunately half of them are in a smoking section. There is a lovely fire where most of the meats are cooked.The menus for two are very reasonable (approximately CF 70 - 90), but there are also excellent choices on an individual basis. The portions are weight controlled so you know how much you are going to receive.The "meals for two" include salad and potatoes. Bread ... but, sadly, no butter unless you ask for it ... is also provided. Wine and beer are available at a reasonable (for Switzerland) cost. A half-litre of beer is CF6 and a dl of wine is about CF8.5.Service is excellent as is the ambience. We would definitely return to this restaurant.

We had a nice dinner here with delicious meat and side dish. The ambience was really nice and the big fireplace makes u feel home. The meats were just cooked to perfection. The side dishes were small but also good. Price for the meat were ok but side dish expensive. Service was friendly but slow. Will come back for the meat

Wenn Sie ein leckeres Stück Fleisch vom Holzkohlegrill möchten, sind Sie hier genau richtig. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist für mich in Ordnung. Das Restaurant hat eine schöne, rustikale Atmosphäre und ich kann es nur empfehlen.

Its own almost rustic atmosphere. The meat cooked on the open fire looks delicious. The innkeeper entertains his regulars and us spontaneous guests at the bar with rude, unassuming sayings.

Es war alles bestens!Das Fleisch auf den Punkt, die bedienung freundlich und das Restaurant selbst gefällt mir persöndlich super.
