We were in St Gallen visiting family and this is their favorite restaurant. We joined them for dinner there and it was a fantastic experience. The owner, Ambros, came to the table and asked if we had any special requests for food. He made special appetizers for us that were absolutely great. We started with the his white wine recommendations which were from Truttiker vineyards. We especially enjoyed the variety of Pinot Blanc that Truttiker makes especially for Schlössli. With the superb main courses we had a Truttiker Pinot Noir that is the best I've had. That was followed by dessert and then Ambros gave us a tour of the historic building. It was a night to remember. The next day our children arrived from the US. We had such a great experience the night before that we decided to dine again at Schlössli as a family. We had the same Truttiker white and red wines that were as excellent as the fine food that Ambros' staff prepared and served so kindly yet elegantly to us.We will remember the two evenings of great wine, food, service and atmosphere at Schlössli, and the personal attention and hospitality we were shown. The next time we are in Switzerland we will definitely return to Schlössli.
we were with a group of 110 people at ambros wirth and team and enjoyed the lunch right in front of the restaurant on a long table - in the middle of the old town with magnificent scenery. all our guests were thrilled! the whole team was extremely striving and went the "extra mile" to offer us an unforgettable experience. I can only recommend the restaurant at the very best. we will be happy to come back at any time!
in the schlössli at the spisertor the guests are welcome as queens or kings! here everything is from a to z! the ambiente, the gastfreundschaft, the kitchen and the service! the regional cuisine is excellent and the service perfect. herr weth as a host and his young crew pamper the hospitable at royal level.
