Schornen am Morgarten

If you want to experience a real local Swiss beiz this is a place to go. A tiny and unassuming little house on the side of the road between Morgarten and Sattel, where the local farmers and artisans meet. Everyone knows each other and discussions are lively and animated. Portions are huge - we had the cordon bleu and the portion was enough for two, but it was delicious. In winter they make one of the best fondues around. The inside of the restaurant is very small and you might have to share a table with locals but dont sit at the Stammtisch without being invited to. Note this is one of the few restaurants where smoking is still allowed inside.

a superb, from the time when the Swiss kitchen was still the Swiss kitchen. beat, a gastronomy of old shred and korn, conjures up tasty, great dishes on the dishes. when I think of his double carving portions, the water is running in my mouth. these carving portions should only order who does not care about its size, otherwise just order a simple portion. who has already given himself a "schornen meringue" knows what a real creamy bombe is. who wants to enjoy a beautiful, rustic summer evening in the open, does not come past the schornen.
