Seehotel Kastanienbaum

To review this type of hotel it's a case of whether it meets your expectations given the price you pay? It has a great location overlooking the lake. We had lake-view rooms in the roof with a small terrace. It's not a luxury hotel, the...ambiance when you walk in being reminiscent of Spanish 3 star seventies hotels but the staff were friendly and helpful and all the ones we met spoke perfect English and we soon warmed to the place. The bedroom was basic but the bed comfortable and the ensuite functional and being Switzerland, scrupulously clean. Bath towels though were too small and too thin. Downstairs the hotel has a beautiful outside terrace overlooking the lake which must be idyllic in good weather. In poor winter though the hotel lacks a comfortable lounge as the only bar space consists of a few bar stools. To sit down and enjoy a bottle of wine the only option is to use a dining table. We found the food, while pricey, to be good.

I had the opportunity to stay in this hotel for a weekend. I was pleasantly surprised with the overall look and the feeling of the hotel and the location along the luzernsee. I recommend to take a boat trip from lucerene to kastanienbaum see hotel as there is a harbour right in front of the hotel. they can better appreciate the beautiful mountain landscape and the lush seascape they visit. in the arrival the team at the reception was very helpful, rooms and facilities clean and terrace view made our day. In general, however, I would suggest that I say goodbye to dinner sooner than later.

The rooms are decent and the pricing is okay. But the best thing about the hotel is the breakfast. During summer time you can have breakfast right next to the waters with a perfect view of the lake and mountains topped with snow. Apart from...that the hotels are good but the views are the main thing. But abit far from the town centre.

the room was very beautiful also the view from the window was amazing you can see the mountains and the lake but the hotel is so expensive . the food are good and the dessert was delicious , also i advice you to try the...vanilla ice cream and the fruit salad . visited augest 2015 .
