Shimbashi Soba & Sake Bar

We've been wanting to come here for a long time, always packed everytime we go pass. Today must be our lucky Saturday, it was cold and rainy, so we've got a table.It's not a big space, however very well designed, Japanese cafe style, full of thing to cater us patronOrder some food; Okonomiyaki, just addictive and some $17.00 lunch specials. One cold and one warm Soba noodles, it comes with some Don (rice) with Salmon and Tempura. It was filling and just delicious, especially that Soba. Rice was on the sweet side, completed those Salmon (a little over-cooked) and Tempura well, my Tempura was well seasoned, just ain't crisply fried.Not a surprise that this place is always packed with the quality of their Soba and other dishes, also the unique dining space. Will come back for some Sake.13/6/16Back for lunchOrdered the same things and still the Okonomiyaki comes in the middle of our meals instead of the beginning of our meals.That cold Soba sauce is addictive.They've over-cooked the rice.Still a great meal though.

Very cozy place where you can be relaxed with some beer and talks with your friends.Staff are very attentive, and food is good at very reasonable price.We, a party of six people, have squeezed ourselves into the space where only five could be seated. Some may find it annoying, but we found it very interesting while seated elbow to elbow, talking and laughing in a casual setting.Soba as the last order of the day for our group were very good.I heard that Shimbashi was moving. Had it already moved to another location?

After experiencing our first Moomba Parade, we made our way here to enjoy something we both enjoy. Japanese Soba noodles. We both wanted something light for lunch, and Soba noodles met our criteria of something light for lunch. My sesame flavoured one was beautiful whilst the Seiro one that my partner had was slightly on the overpowering side. All in all, we enjoy ourselves, will definitely come back again to try something else on the menu some other time.

The Restaurant is quite small and always busy. We were lucky and on two consecutive days we have arrived right before the people started to line up outside. The service is pretty fast, the waiters are super nice! Absolutely not a pricey place. Highly recommended!
