Shoemakers Newbury

Experienced a friends lovely 50th birthday here, it was very busy and noisy at the bar, however the birthday room much better (except the noise we made . The room itself was decorated wonderfully and I took pictures for inspiration at home. Staff were great, but needed reminding a couple of times for requests. However they were keen none the less. Most of the food was tasty and cooked well with no complaints, however my wife's chicken was dry(over done and quite bland compared to the other meals I tried. I can certainly recommend the venison and bread sharing starter. There was a multi storey nearby that made parking a breeze, it does close around 10.30pm to new visitors, but you can still buzz in and leave yourself after that time. I would definitely use the place again if I lived locally myself and would recommend to others.

Great pub, friendly staff and lovely food right in the town centre. Definitely the best town centre pub in Newbury good value for money too.

Steak knives to eat pizza was a warming for the thick, doughy heavy pizza which was to follow.

Food is excellent. I highly rate the Sunday roast!
