My wife and I began going to the Four Seasons because Diane, who previously had the Willow Tree at Kirton Lindsey Garden Centre, had to find new premises after her lease at Kirton came to an end, and she took on a lease at the Four Seasons. Diane 's restaurant at Kirton was superb; we never had a reason to complain, be disappointed etc etc......it was quite simply first class and 5 stars all the way!!!! When she moved to the Four Seasons at Silica Lodge Garden Centre in Scunthorpe there was initially no change in food quality and quantity, but bit by bit both have declined over a few months. On Sunday 28 May I found out that Diane had relinquished her lease because of personal reasons and I thought 'ah, now I understand the decline '. Ok, down to my experiences at the Four Seasons. I like my chips to be golden brown and crispy, not pale in colour and softish, so I make a request when ordering for my chips to be done golden brown and crispy (this is typed on to the food order for the kitchen to read)..... they never come as requested so I have just shrugged my shoulders and got on with the meal, ultimately though I have tired of my request being ignored and I have sent the meal back on the last two occasions, and to be fair the chips that came back were absolutely excellent (hence 2 stars instead of one star). Apart from the chips my chicken curry now doesn 't even half fill the metal dish, so yesterday I sent it back asking for a full portion (the dish would be FULL of curry when Diane ran the restaurant) but when it came back there was hardly a difference in the quantity, with perhaps one very small spoonful having been added to the dish. On the 28th the chicken in the curry was chewy and hard, as though it had been previously cooked and then used to make the curry. I am so, so disappointed to have lost the opportunity to sample Diane 's excellent service and cuisine. On a good note there are two particularly excellent members of the serving staff. A young lad called Byron, who seems to understand the concept of great customer service, and a black lady (sorry, don 't know her name , but she is a lovely person and gives wonderful service), interestingly she came with Diane from the Willow Tree at Kirton Lindsey). I don 't think we 'll be going back to the Four Seasons.
