Being from the deep, dirty south it’s hard to find good BBQ. Like trying to get maple syrup out of an oak tree in the winter. We’ve have devoured everything we’ve tried so far. I’m not sure how long they’ve been in this location but we stopped on a whim and haven’t been disappointed yet! Ribs are fall off the bone, the way great ribs should be. I’ve been known to throw a little bourbon barrel aged maple syrup in the sauce but it’s not necessary. The other adults don’t even use the sauce and with my crew that says something. Black eyed peas are perfect! Baked beans have a generous amount of meat and great flavor. Corn bread we add a little honey butter and it’s perfect. The Mac and cheese is divine, we fight over it. I can’t seem to find the right number of large sides to buy so we can have some the next day. Fried pickles are great. Some places make the batter too thick or too spicy but theirs are perfect. Eat them while hot! Nachos the were amazing on the ride home, but after a 45 minute drive home the chips weren’t as crispy. We’ll ask for them on the side to solve that. But the toppings were spot on! Now for the brownies! Do yourself a favor and get one or three. Hard week? Get a brownie. Kids going crazy? Get a brownie. Car troubles? Get a brownie. You’ll thank me later. Have it with a glass of milk. Humble suggestion. I wish for summer months they could offer fried okra or green tomatoes??. But then I’d need a second job.
