Snack Le Bistrot

So you are travelling around rural France, stopping off in Bastides, and you want lunch. Unfortunately the options are usually nothing (everywhere closed from 12 to 3) or a full on restaurant. Personally I don't want or need a five course menu touristique at lunch time and if you are the same and are in the Perigord head for Beaumont and the Brasserie Le Bistro. Note T has this as a Snack Bar, it isn't, very much a Bar /Brasserie. Very friendly staff madame in the kitchen and two enthusiast waitresses out front, friendly to regulars and visitors and great homemade food salads, croques etc. and local wines by the carafe. Highly recommended.

My husband and I have visited 'le Bistro 't on many occasions but last Thursday before the torchlight procession we ate for the first time the quality of the food was fabulous and we will definitely be going again when we are next in Beaumont the duck was superb and the platter really really nice. Service form Katie(? and her daughter was friendly and efficient! Highly recommended.

I really like this little cafe and the owner Kathy. I go there regularly and there is always a good mix of locals, local expats and tourists. Great place to get frites and beer during the Marche Nocturne and a great place for coffee. Love to try my poor French there in the knowledge that they can understand English if the French is incoherent. Really like this place.

This is a brilliant little Bistro. Kathy, the owner, is very welcoming and obviously enjoys meeting people and chatting with her customers. We go there 3/4 times a week for morning coffee, which is delicious and only €1.40 a cup! There is a lovely atmosphere and it is patronised by locals and visitors.

Great location in the town square, lovely fresh food. Would also recommend the rose wine Jolie Fils. Worth a visit .
