Sports Social Bethesda

Saw online that FanDuel was available at Sport and Social in the Pike and Rose commercial district. Arrived one day at 4 pm when the Sport and Social website said they were open. A manager said rudely said the SportsBook section did not open until 6pm. I asked what hours during the week the SportsBook section was open and he barked out the days and hours. I typed the days and hours into my Notes. Went another day and the Sportsbook section was closed as they said there was a problem with the security system. OK, stuff happens. Went twice after that with no problem. Was told the hours of the Sportsbook on Saturday are 11 am to 12 pm. Arrived at 12:30 pm on Saturday and the doors were locked. One of the employees of the Sportsbook was sitting at the bar eating lunch watching games on TV and said they were on lunch break and would open back up at 1 pm. Really? The Sportsbook was supposed to open at 11 am and they already needed a lunch break. Plenty of people in the restaurant watching the Maryland football game. The hours that the Sportsbook is open do not match the hours the restaurant is open for any day of the week. Would not be too hard to let customers know on the website the hours that the Sportsbook is open especially for a Sports bar and when the Sportsbook is prominently shown on the Sport and Social website. And how about the Sportsbook actually being open when you tell customers what the operating hours.

The server was present and attentive enough, and the busboy was great at taking away our plates! However, the nachos did not have enough cheese. And the menus were pretty nasty, dirty and sticky (gross). To be a sports bar, the layout isn't most efficient. As an interior designer, I would suggest TV's be visible to all guests -especially with reservations- not obstructed by columns and pillars that have lights instead of TV's on them, while blocking many TV's behind it. it was frustrating craning my neck to see around objects, past the blow-up scarecrow/jackolantern covering the scoreboard, trying to kneel in the seat to see TV's behind my booth, and from long distance past the blocked ones with the one visible television above my table on a game I did not want to see, and one I did want to see behind my booth facing my back.

I waited about 10 minutes before a hostess came to see me at the front door. There were about 8 of us and the food that ordered drinks and food at the same time and it took a while for food to come out. Some people 's side items came out without the sandwich or burger, and others had appetizers to come out last or after the meal. It was a lot of disorganization. However, Josh 's services were very good. He kept us informed, smiling, and professional through all of our hangry .

To be fair, it was a Friday evening, but they charged us a facilities fee on our bill, that came out to $80. What the hell? What other resturant does that? They took over 30 mins to get our check, which they couldn 't split, and then this. The food and and the night we had the $80 fee but this killed the mood fast.After my experience, I would NOT go back.

1st time coming here because we were waiting for family to attend a birthday party at another location but, wanted to grab a quick bite. The bartender Demetrius was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and the business. Would definitely try it again.
