Unfortunately, our experience on 9/14 was exceptionally poor. The waiter (Matt) was outright rude and, when asked for an eta on the dinner that we had ordered over an hour prior, said I have no idea. I am not a scientist . We requested to speak to the Manager, who acknowledged the waiter 's rude utterance and offered to adjust our check. To make matters worse, 3 of the 4 entrees had to be returned as they were cold and incorrectly prepared (probably bc they wanted to get us our meals due to the extensive 60 minute wait). Ultimately, 1 of the 4 entrees was canceled because everyone else in our party had finished eating and it was very late in the evening (after 10:30pm). All in all, it was a terrible experience that destroyed a special occasion.
We sat at the bar at 5:30 on a Saturday and really enjoyed our evening especially because of Sam and Megan who were working behind the bar. They were very pleasant, efficient and professional. You could tell that they genuinely wanted us to enjoy our meal. Our various salads were fresh and really delicious, the flounder (one of their signature dishes) was generous, fresh and delicious and the duck confit pappardelle was incredible! We will definitely be back!
Our experience at Starr Boggs would have been much better if we did not feel, from the minute we were seated, that that staff's primary goal was getting us fed and out ASAP so that the table could be turned. The service was adequate but indifferent, with different servers turning up for every course. Likewise the food was only fair and uninspired (duck overcooked/tough/fatty with a sad piece of cauliflower and 4 string beans on the side)
We love the relaxed ambiance, impeccable service and delicious food here! The sauteed blackfish was the best fish dish we had in a long time. We always look forward to dining here and are not dissapointed. Try it if you haven't.
