Stuthornes on Main

This has to be our favourite place to eat in Nanton! The building is adorable, beautifully decorated inside & out and clean. The staff are friendly, easy to talk to and considerate. The best part is the food! The chili is hearty, filling and delicious and they feature a different soup each day - over the last year I have tried almost a dozen different soups and honestly have loved each and every one. They are seasoned perfectly, the variety is wonderful and they are always served at the perfect temperature. Pair your soup or chili with a fresh made biscuit or cornbread or try one of the morning glory muffins - so so so good! They also make fresh pies that are often cooling on the porch (and delighting your senses as you walk in). They have a public washroom which can be a hard thing to find in small towns. And the menu offers options for folks with dietary issues.The entire experience is lovely! When in Nanton for lunch this is a must stop. They are open 10-3 everyday except Tuesdays & Wednesdays. We've finally tried Stuthornes on Main for lunch... This experience was way overdue.I am a huge Mushroom Soup fan, and have high standards for all foods with mushrooms in them. Mushrooms need to shine. I am accustomed to cream soups - some better than others. This mushroom soup is not cream based, and I am in love! From the first bite to the last, there were tons of chunks of mushrooms, and other complimentary veggies - which were all without question Fresh! Delicious. Every bite of the full-bodied soup had good, full flavour.We also tried the pulled pork wrap. It was thick and fresh, flavourful and filling. For two adults and a five year old, the wrap and soup were a satisfying meal to share. I expect that if I had soup and a wrap just for myself, I would have had leftovers.We have also had fantastic apple pie. Thank you!Add Stuthornes on Main to your Nanton adventure. What a treat!

I use to LOVE coming here but since moving to the nest their portion sizes have decreased at least 3x.
