Sushi Bistro - Tisch reservieren

Located in a strip mall along Kirkwood Road, Sushi Bistro is a nice establishment. The inside is a little small and the tables may be difficult to come by on a busy Friday evening but they have bar seating as well. The restaurant is clean and has an intimate feel with some dim lighting. We have been here several times and have ordered different types of rolls. I like their rolls. They don't make them too large but they do hit the spot if you are hungry. The prices are comparable to other sushi establishments around St. Louis area. One of our favorite and a repeat order is the rainbow roll. I have had better rainbow rolls but theirs is a fairly good rendition of the roll. I have also tried their squid salad and I like it. The portion size is quite large for 1 person and the squid pieces are cut larger than most places. The flavor is comparable to others which is a great thing! When you come in, they will not give you a piece of paper to write down whatever type of roll you want. Instead, they give you a nice, big menu which includes a large list of their normal rolls and a server will take your order, rolls or otherwise. They have hibachi here as well. A very small gripe I have about the menu is the fact that it's quite heavy and awkward especially when you have a smaller table. This place does have happy hour where they give you a discount on the chef's special roll (about 10% or so) and have some cocktails or wine on special as well. Overall, yes I do enjoy this place and yes, I will definitely be coming back.

Another good meal at Sushi Bistro... and that $25 for $50 Groupon that seems to always be available makes it a touch more affordable. This time we ordered the Pink Lady (one of our favs here), The Fancy Dragon (we love eel), and the 2nd Base plate. The 2nd Base gets you 3 different rolls... A rainbow, a tuna roll, and a California roll. The combo plates like this one seem like the best value in that you get 3 rolls for $18. But be careful, the Groupon won't work with all of the combo plates. The rolls are always prepared nicely. I like that this place doesn't over do it with any sauces. It seems like more and more sushi spots are slathering every roll with eel sauce and mayo sauce... so much that you cannot taste the fish. Service was ok... We've had better here in the past. One tip... if you are going to get an appetizer and don't want the rolls until you finish, you'll need to tell the waiter or hold off on ordering. Each time we've ordered an appetizer, the rolls came out at the same time.

Oh, Groupon how I love you! We were in the Kirkwood area, so I took a look to see if any restaurants around were offering a Groupon deal... and there was Sushi Bistro! This place really earns the Yelp A OK rating good food, good prices, nice atmosphere but nothing to write home about. They have an extensive sushi menu, as well as a robust selection of additional entrees hibachi, tempura, teriyaki. The service was friendly and timely everything was clean and tastefully designed. Seems like a nice place to grab a tasty, reasonably priced menu (they had a really good selection of lunch specials) if you 're in the area but I wouldn 't travel any great distance to have it again. A OK!

I ordered the I like sashimi plate. Decent deal for 16 pieces at $25 but the quality of the fish was sub par. Some pieces were tough and still had the blood lines left in. I sat at the bar and the tables could definitely have been cleaned better. Before leaving I realized the only guy making sushi was also the bartender mixing drinks...not sure about cleanliness there but worrisome. Overall lackluster sushi, generic decor, and staff was unengaged.

Love coming here! Their Sushi is fresh and the Manager is always willing to accommodate special request. Downtown Kirkwood has a jewel!
