Sushi Katsu-ya Studio City

Be very careful of going to this racial discriminating restaurant. The managers name is Koji Tanaka. He will have a power trip and treat you very disrespectfully. The valet crashed my friends 150k car into a yellow pole and they refused to give up their insurance or take blame. So we started parking our cars ourself and still tipping the valet triple what they charge to do so. Every time we eat here we tip over 25% to the restaurant just because we enjoy the food so much. This last time we came Koji went on a power trip said we are no longer welcome after we placed our food with the server. I asked him the reasoning and he was clearly on a power trip telling me the food won't be coming out and we are no longer welcome. He's a very older upset Asian man. He is usually there Sundays. I wouldn't go to any Katsuya until this manager is fired from his job at this studio city location. I've never met such a mean person in the restaurant industry before. I've probably spent 10's of thousands this year at this exact restaurant. I expect a higher up manager to give me a call and make this right. Or I will be proceeding with action.

Initially, I walked in a bit disgruntled about paying $10 for valet parking in a lot that was mostly empty. But once we entered, we were greeted warmly by the staff and seated right away at the bar. We ordered a variety of dishes to share and we were impressed by the quality of food and overall value of the meal. We got the corn tempura, shrimp and veggie tempura, cucumber sunomono, honey hand roll, yellowtail collar, assortment of nigiri, and tamago to end the meal. Everything was tasty and pretty authentic, and even reminded us of our meals at sushi gen. We'll definitely be back and recommend to others.

My recent visit to Sushi Katsu-Ya was superb, despite not having a reservation and a 30-minute wait, which was absolutely worth it. Manager Christine's exceptional service ensured our experience was peaceful and enjoyable. The sushi was delightful, showcasing fresh flavors and expert craftsmanship. In addition, my kids loved the fried corn, adding to the overall fantastic dining experience. I highly recommend Sushi Katsuya for a delightful sushi experience.

10 dollar parking right from the start at a strip mall. Then food took forever for lunch. No one japanese chef at the bar and food was soooo mediocre I would never come back here. It was an institution back in the day. I don't even understand why people even come here now. Not to mention how dated the place is.
