Suzacabana - Tisch reservieren

We have been visiting Charente Maritime and its coast for over 20 years now, first as a couple and now as a family. When we returned for our annual summer holiday last year, we were delighted to see that one of the nicest beaches on this stretch of the coast was transformed by the refurbishment of what was once a tired, uninspiring restaurant with irregular opening times to a lively, stylish beach club . A large, canopied terrace with an uninterrupted view of the beach was a perfect venue for a long, lazy lunch and ice cold cocktails or crisp white wine. The cool interior, with its bold tropical prints, was a welcome getaway from the often harsh sun. And if you didn 't want to retreat into the shade? Well, La Crique helpfully provided attractive fedoras to keep you under cover, if you decided a hat was more your thing. The menu was seasonal, local and delicious! I gorged myself on an unnecessary amount of oysters, fresh from the oyster beds of Huitres Geay just up the road in La Tremblade. Fussy eaters like my children were catered for with patience and humour and I barely remember what my husband had ordered, as he 'd gobbled it up in record time! We also returned in the evening, and were entertained by a DJ playing chilled out summer tunes that encouraged us to attempt a side shoe shuffle. On each occasion, we were welcomed by the owner, David, and his right hand man, Adrian, like long lost friends. The staff were faultless. The atmosphere was brilliant. Children and dogs were welcomed with open arms. We are definitely going to visit again in Summer 2019. If you 're in the area, I insist you book yourself some time at La Crique, too I don 't reckon you 'll regret it!

A super location and sublime decor but disappointing menu. Bravo for the attempt to cater for vegetarians, which is rare to find, but a slice of aubergine doesn’t constitute a veggie burger and salads aren’t really filling enough. On our visit early September the menu choice was too limited. If you didn’t like steak or tuna you were really stuck! (to have 4 tuna options was a bit much) For a restaurant on the edge of the beach you would expect more fish or seafood variety. I think we’ll steer clear during out of season and hope that next spring brings new inspiration.

This restaurant is just above the beach in Suzac. We were able to sit outside on the terrace in October but inside it is really nicely designed with large windows overlooking the beach. The food is really good nice individual salads but also good burgers etc. Service is excellent a great young crew. It was busy in October, so best to book in summer if you want a table on the terrace.

La Crique has an amazing location right on Suzac plage, it has a nice terrace overlooking the beach. Great food, great atmosphere and lovely bi-lingual staff.

Fabulous evening meal watching the sun set, exceptional food, good service in a fantastic location. An all round excellent experience
