This enchanting building formed the backdrop for an impromtu meeting on a rainy Friday afternoon, between two older travelers in this tiny hamlet of Horgen. We met for a late afternoon snack and were delighted with the atmosphere and dessert menu. The staff was multi lingual, and very accommodating. Our glazed wooden table faced the beautiful outdoor garden, and the service was impeccable. I opted for a steamy green tea, which was served in a large glass cup, complete with a tiny hour glass timer and a decadent slice of warm chocolate cake , adorned with vanilla ice cream. My companion ordered a delectable French cheese, and paired it with a light Portugese wine. The Hotel itself is situated in a little square in the center of town. There are tiny specialty shops, a flowing fountain, and a large old church overlooking the scenic location. It was a delightful interlude, and I hope one day to revisit this character filled frozen moment in time; a hidden gem in the shadow of the gorgeous Lake .
Generell würde ich sagen, das ist ein nettes Restaurant. Wir kamen mit einer größeren Gruppe, um Abendessen zu haben und jeder genossen sein Essen und Wein. Der Ort ist eine schöne direkt neben dem kleinen Brunnen. Es regnete an diesem Abend, aber wir konnten immer noch draußen sitzen wegen der Sonnenschirme, die sie haben. Ich hatte nur einen Salat mit Speck und Ei, was ich sagen muss war sehr klein und nicht besonders definitiv den Preis von 18 CHF nicht wert. Die Gnocchi, die ich von meinem Freund versuchte, waren aber sehr gut.
We stayed in the hotel for the second time as previously all was great. As before we ate in the restaurant and again was tempted by the atmosphere. From start to finish all was the reception from the manger relaxed and informative, the staff were just fantastic. We chose the tasting menu all dishes so so tasty with great wine. We deviated a little on the desert by choosing cheese which was no problem for the kitchen, The whole night was crowned with a superb Irish coffee which really closed a perfect evening.
This is a hidden gem. In the small old-town of Horgen. They made a special effort in Covid times to write to clients and offer a Stay over and dine package, so we could enjoy a night in the hotel and eat a great dinner. Prices, service, food, all just great. For four of us it was CHF 250 each for the stay, a super three-course meal, aperitifs, three bottles of wine and coffee. It is a short walk from Horgen train station and from the ferry Love these guys and highy reocmmend them
