Taverne Mykonos

Last night we enjoyed a super, authentic Greek meal at the Mykonos on the outskirts of Bergisch Gladbach. Being a party of 7 we were given a table away from the main part of the restaurant where we could make our own noise without disturbing the other guests too much. After an opening of a free glass of ouzo we were put in the mood to order. The menu is extensive and very Greek. Having lived in Greece for over years our expectations were high. We weren't disappointed. I plumped for Gavros and Taramasalata as a starter followed by a combination of very tasty lamb chops and liver with Tzatziki. Being one of the drivers I spent the evening on Apfelschorle pity but necessary. All of us were so full at the end that desserts were out of the question. Service was perfect throughout with that little extra touch from the owner who gave loads of helpful advice to ensure that all the guests were happy. We'll be back again... soon!

Unfortunately I cannot write a good review about.Mykonos. We reserved a table but the staff was so slow, and unfriendly until we could sit was 3 min. The restaurant is pretty small and was only one free table, so we didn't understand why we had to wait at all : We had to sit just next to the toilet door, and was smelly! The food was just ok, very simple, and it's not typical Greek as they are offering German and Italian food as well. Better to try something else...

Nach dem enttäuschenden Essen im letzten Jahr freue ich mich zu berichten, dass sich die Qualität des Essens deutlich verbessert hat. Die Pommes waren gut gewürzt und gekocht. Dieses Mal gab es eine Portion Tsatsiki zum Gyros dazu. Der Service war nicht besonders freundlich, aber effizient, eher deutsch als griechisch.

The restaurant did have decline in service and food quality in the last years but having a drink and snack in their beer garden is really OK. Last time I have been during lunch: The ordered food was wrong or burned. The service not really freindly.
