We enjoyed our first taste of Georgian food at Tbilisi restaurant. The badrijani (aubergine starter was very good, but I would definitely recommend a bread to go with it in our case the acharuli khachapuri (flatbread with cheese and egg was the highlight of the meal. For our mains my partner had the chakapuli (lamb with tarragon and I the satsivi (chicken in walnut sauce. They were quite pleasant but perhaps not perfectly to our taste we are not used to Georgian food, of course. They were both served hot but in very cold bowls so within a short time the food was also cold. Although I have since read that satsivi literally means cold dish and is usually served cold, I must say that I didn 't find it particularly appetising once it had cooled down. The side of pureed rice was a good accompaniment but I found the salad rather too salty again, this may be where my taste differs from the typical Georgian palate. For drinks my partner enjoyed a glass of the Saperavi red wine very fruity and we each tried a Georgian lemonade. The pear flavour was delicious and the tarragon flavour certainly interesting and a lovely bright green! Finally I had a slice of a delicious moist cake with honey and walnuts. Overall we enjoyed our first foray into Georgian food and would definitely come back again as long as the bowls are warmed next time! PS the prices on the website looked to good to be true, and they are expect to pay £1 3 more per item than the prices shown online at the moment.

7 people dined on a Saturday evening in March so there was a wide array of food. I like the idea of eating typical indigenous food so for my first course I selected the ispanakhi which is a steamed spinach puree served with walnuts, herbs garlic and vinegar and costing £8. It was a cold dish but rather pleasant which defied me having muscles like Popeye. My main course was chanacki which consists of lamb, aubergine, potato, onions, tomatoes and herbs served as a stew with a distinct hint of paprika which came with bread costing £15.95. There was a feeling of a Hungarian influence in this meal but well worth the experience. Our choice of wine was Chateau Mukhrani Queuri 2018 Georgian at 13.5% volume. I recommend this red wine as it went well with the meal and had a smooth taste. I gave it 7/10. N.B. All wines are of Georgian origin with a distinct French feeling. The dessert I chose was something I have never tried before. Again it was typical Georgian called pelamushi but consisted of it being a pudding with grape juice topped with walnuts. (They must like walnuts in Georgia). I don 't know what to make of this pudding, it tasted so different but did me no harm. £5.95 if you want to make your own opinion. Overall a thoroughly pleasant evening, fairly full but the 2 waitresses were busy which made service a little slow. 2 small toilets at the back of the restaurant but a good selection of all Georgian wines.

I ate here recently on a Saturday evening with a friend. There's a good range of Georgian dishes on the menu, and the prices are reasonable. The khachapuri starter was good, but they brought the main courses before we'd even eaten half of the starters, and didn't seem at all bothered by that. And those main courses were overcooked, with not very much meat. We've eaten here many times over the years, but that'll be the last time. Time to try some of the other Georgian restaurants in London.

Went there last night with a friend who was visiting from out of town. I had never had Georgian food, so had no idea of what to expect, but the woman helping us (manager or owner, maybe? was extremely helpful and gave us excellent suggestions. Everything we tried was flavored nicely and delicious, and we could not finish everything since it was a lot of food.
