I don 't know of many places where there 's a 'Spoons at each end of the same road, but this pub is at 1 Falcon Road, and the London and South Western is at the other end, on the corner of Lavender Hill. Although not for much longer, as the Asparagus is one of 30 pubs to be axed, which is a shame as it 's a nice pub. I visited around 11am to get a late breakfast and went in through the Falcon Road entrance, and there is another on Battersea Park Road. The interior is a rectangle, and has a garden area on Falcon Road. It seemed comfortable, with the tables spaced well so it wouldn 't get too crowded. See if you can spot the Battersea Power Station drawing. As for the breakfast, well, it 's the consistent quality you get at all Wetherspoons. I had a hankering for some black pudding and mushrooms, and there are now a few ways of ordering this: the 'Mushroom Benedict ' for £4.50 has 2 X egg Benedict, each on a muffin with a mushroom, and so adding a side of 2 black puddings costs £1.25 (total £5.75). or there 's the 'Miners Benedict ' which has 2 X egg Benedict, each on a muffin with a black pudding, for £4.50, and so adding an extra 2 mushrooms cost 75p (total £5.25). OK, 50p saving might not seem much, but that 's almost a 1/5th the cost of a pint of Doom Bar in this pub!
