This charming pub has recently been renovated and while the amenities are new and modern it has not lost any of its charm and history. It is one of the oldest Pubs in the area having been built in around 1840. The menu has recently been changed and I had the open steal sandwich for lunch. It was sitting on pumpkin bread form the bakery next door and the steak was tender and juicy and topped of with an egg. I thoroughly enjoyed the steak sandwich and highly recommend it. The person I was with had the chicken schnitzel which was crumbed on site and was nice and moist and not overcooked. The pub also services the Quest apartments over the road so we decide to have breakfast there the next day. While I had a continental breakfast the person I was traveling with had the full English breakfast. This came with eggs, bacon, sausages and the pumpkin bread from the local bakery. It as more than sufficient to meet the needs of any hungry traveler. They also have a couple of amazing function rooms one of which we attended for a 21st (the reason for the trip to Adelaide). The room was great with its own bar area, toilets and quiet are for when the oldies needed a break from the loud music.I would highly recommend the British for breakfast, lunch or dinner or for any function you might be planning.
