we have passed the house to numerous places and always thought "what a lovely pub ' we finally have the opportunity to go and have a meal, good what I can say except wow, there was no mistake at all, this place, from welcome to fairwell everything was fab. the renter took the time not only to welcome us all, but kept the place open so we could eat. the eating was amazing, not a leiche left on the tellers (15 of us) the chef made a fantastic work with all the different orders. will we have been going back? Oh, yes, every time we go by, we'll pay a visit. or even if we have only a desire to go to lunch, that is the place we will visit. fabulous
wrote a review just now..posted it seems disappeared.....anyway....a family together of almost thirty people....Mike and his team did a wonderful work in preparing the room for us. the staff very good and the meal excellent....and the guinness was quite good as! a special family day that was made a little more special. we hope that we can enjoy a meal there in the not too distant future. well made to all at the clock. chideock
Family run, with a friendly welcome and food offer of freshly cooked pub favorites. Inside tables are well spaced and outside there’s a choice of seating area providing sun or shade, though at the side there’s some road noise.Steak and ale pie was excellent with a good mix of vegetables. Chicken burger came with nice crispy chips. Apple cake a bit low on apples but with a lovely light sponge top. Good value and recommended.
Just come back from having a meal with my adult family. We all had different meals and all agreed the food was excellent. Plenty of choices on the menu, pleasant surroundings and a friendly staff. Prices very reasonable for the service and standard of the food. Recommended.
