Fantastic culinary experience……… My wife and I, along with our dear friends visited The County restaurant, 13 The Green, Aycliffe Village, County Durham today, Saturday the 19th of March 2022). As soon as we walked in we were warmly greeted by a lovely waitress/ hostess called Claire. She showed us to our table , gave us some menus and took our drinks order. We all chose different starters and mains. Kieran, our waiter, brought our meals and we were not disappointed. Why?, because: 1) The food was well presented 2) The plates were red hot 3) The food was piping hot 4) The food was excellent, tasty and plentiful 5) The waiter/waitress Claire and Kieran) were super friendly, polite and professional, nothing was too much trouble. 6) The pub/restaurant was spotless, warm and inviting. A truly fantastic culinary experience. Well done to all at The County restaurant.
early evening meal in the graphic, the pub was very busy, but eating was ordered abs brought us without too much of a wait, so much choice and allergies. determined to pick spade with fried egg in a Hollandaise sauce, which was on and for a main course I was served for belly pork with black pudding served on apfel and kartoffel mash. determined a pudding was too much the choice was very tempting.
the county is a hidden gem. embedded in a quiet village, it overlooks the village green. room spacious and well furnished, I still have a more flawless hotel to find. fantastic breakfast and very good choices. in any case a place to visit again.
an absolutely high-quality meal for two. the chips that are cooked in the meat drop are exceptional. the largest part of cheese and cookies I have ever seen to share more than enough for 2. highly recommended.
