The Eagle Tavern

This is a brilliant pub. The food is excellent especially when Ben is the duty chef, it's not a fast food joint so you have to wait while it's cooked properly. Ben has worked in some dam posh restaurants so his whole attitude is good food and repeat customers. I recommend the shepherd's pie, its massive and tasty also the pie of the day was steak, its not the normal pastry lid on a pie mix it's a full pastry pie top and bottom with massive lumps of well cooked meat

We visited on a Monday late lunchtime after looking for somewhere on the High Street for our family of 4 with a dog. We were not disappointed at all, really delicious truly home cooked food and staff were friendly and welcoming, even the dog got a surprise treat! Teenage son said it was “an amazing burger” which is high praise indeed! We were only passing through the area but if we are around again we would definitely visit again.

traditional pub, exactly what they expect in a pub. good selection and Cask-Ales. table and cozy sofa seats. great garden on the back. Pub menus standard Pub-Tarife. in the middle of the street. background music would be nice.

Popped in for a quick drink whilst waiting for friends. The pub was busy as it was a Saturday but the atmosphere was good. The staff were very friendly. The garden area was very nice. Recommend a visit.
