The New Mr Spud Cafe

On a trip with my mother-in-law to meet some of her relatives who live in Okotoks, and they suggested we meet for breakfast at this restaurant. Small restaurant with husband and wife running it. Great food, great price. When we first arrived thought this was not looking that good,small and kinda diner like but upon entering and being greeted by the owner, and then noticing the walls were lined with readers choice awards, new that this was the place to get a good meal. Had the basic breakfast omelette, ham cheese, and was not disappointed. not greasy very fluffy and tasted like a home cooked omelette. Side of toast and hashbrowns, all good. Price was very reasonable for a good breakfast.

We ate at Mr. Spud one evening for the second time and found it to be just as good as the first time we ate there. Food was very tasty, hot when we received it and we were served exactly what we ordered and the way we ordered it. Staff is very friendly and courteous. All in all, a great place to eat.

The restaurant was recommended by the hotel I am staying at. It did not disappoint. Great Halibut and Chips with homemade coleslaw, gravy and most importantly tartar sauce. The owner is charming and pleasant to chat with. Makes you feel very welcome. Which is nice when you are a visitor to the area.

The best wor wonton soup I have had in a long time! Prepared to perfection and a generous serving. Friendly customer service from the owner. Do not be deterred by the sight of the building. The cash only policy was inconvenient.

My family and I were out for a walk and this place is awesome to just run in order a few things and leave. The Fries are among the best. Little by of seasoning salt and perfect amount of crunchiness!
