On my last visit I was told off by the landlady for having my very small dog off the lead at the far end of the garden (nobody else was outside either, only me… There were no signs up stating that dogs weren’t allowed off lead and many small tennis balls in the garden which would make you assume it’s ok. Funny thing is on my last 6 visits there was absolutely no problem, must have caught her on a bad day considering she told me off again for resting my glass on a paving slab at the far end of the garden… (again only me out there Won’t be back I’ll stick to the White Hart from now on… No drama’s there!
I live in Nottingham and would happily drive the three hours to dine on one of Anna’s home made pies! Fortunately I have family who live a short walk from this pub and it’s a given that whenever I visit a trip or two here is always on the cards. Such an amazing team, the food is fantastic and really nothing is too much trouble. Anna, I will be back soon, in the meantime don’t let my brother eat all the pies, save one for me xxx
We visited recently having just completed the 21 mile Hanger Way Walk and the welcome and service we received was first class . Beer in very good condition and the Food was hearty and excellent value . The garden will prove very attractive as and when we get some warmer weather with loads of space and play equipment for children. Owners and staff are clearly working very hard to make this an enjoyable experience.
We visited on a Saturday evening for something to eat and although they did not have a children’s menu they could not have been more accommodating for our 3 year old with several options. Rachel Abbi provided great service whilst we were there. Anna Darren cooked brilliant food, especially the puddings! We felt very safe with the Covid procedures that were put in place. We will definitely be visiting again!
