The Roost on Corydon

This is such an amazing hidden gem. In the summer it's a treetop wonder overlooking the hustle and bustle of people exploring Corydon and when it cools off in the winter it becomes a cozy getaway that is the place to be as the night moves forward. Get there early because seats are limited. I've been here numerous times and it NEVER disappoints. The weekly contain creations are made with love , usually by the lovely Elsa who comes up with all the recipes. Then there is the food. Not even sure what to say other than every time I take a bit I feel like I'm in heaven. Menu changes seasonally so don't miss out. I've attached some photos of things I've devoured. Lots of my favs including Rootbeer pulled jalapeño chicken in pâté choux, roasted beet crostini with goat cheese, chicken sausage with beers and creme fresh, flatbread with garlic emulsion, 'cotton tail' rabbit with coconut cilantro sambol and maple siracha , pork neck with pretzel spaetzel and a poached egg... It goes on and on. And If you have room, sticky cola cake with pecan salted caramel, bourbon creme brûlé. I can't even start naming the drinks. A new one every day last year. Come and try it for yourself!!!❤️❤️❤️

We've visited Roost a couple of times since it first opened and have been both impressed and delighted with the food and drink.Part of the charm is the rooftop patio. Seating inside the restaurant is very limited and the environment is not attractive. The patio adds approximately 35 seats, although some of those are at long tables designed for multiple parties, so you may be seated with others.Cocktails are well prepared and inventive. They're served in a variety of glassware and vessels, many of them quite whimsical. Food is some if the best in the city. They're not many dishes on offer but everything we've tried, and we've tried a lot, has been first rate. Presentation is lovely; even the crockery is special.Service is casual and friendly.I do have a couple of issues. The first is the filthy menus. They're covered with stains and are grubby looking and unsanitary. The restaurant also had a collection of items on a station close to where herbs are being grown. The overall impression for a guest looking towards it is a mess of clutter and a lack of care and attention to details.

I used to live in Winnipeg for 3 years (for work), and discovered this little gem soon after it opened. It's a fantastic restaurant. The food is just filled with flavors. The cocktails are amazing. They have a new craft cocktail everyday.They change their menu each season which keeps it fresh.Cozy spot, with only a few tables, and the patio is awesome facing Corydon.The servers are very friendly, and the bartender Elsa is a magician when it comes to making cocktails.It's a must if you're in Winnipeg.

We stumbled upon this place during the winter. It is quaint and can be difficult to find a seat in sometimes, however totally worth waiting. The bartender makes a new seasonal cocktail list every few months and has a great list of classic cocktails 12months a year. We love the service and the love and passion that goes into making a perfectly balanced cocktail everytime. Elsa truly is the bees knees!

Great food, delicious cocktails and excellent service, all on a beautiful patio in the trees. Couldn't recommend it more highly.
