The Thornton Arms

This pub is just down the street from our house so if we are looking to go out without driving, we walk down. I find the service really good but the food is not that good. We usually just end up grabbing a drink and perhaps an appetizer. Whenever we go in, there are a lot of group parties. Unlike other comments I've read, I don't find the place very loud at all and it probably could use a facelift. As much as I like the service, we don't end up going very often as the food just doesn't cut it. I gave it an average rating because of the service.

I visited this pub for the first time with games group. I instantly loved the atmosphere & ambience in here which felt really homely. We did have to wait a while though for our server to attend to us which didn't really get any better throughout the course of the evening. We waited for menus, drinks, food & felt like we were being ignored on occasion.When we did get the food however it was very tasty & enjoyable. I would happily visit this establishment again but hopefully next time our server is more proactive with a large group.

Great friendly staff who always remember your name - glad to have a Pub in the neighbourhood - drinks are a good price and the food is homemade- just underwent a nice paint job - no complaints - they treat their customers right!

Good chicken wings. Needs a new over haul...old...getting smelly...1980's boring pub Service is great then non existent. Bad lighting.

My husband and I visited this Pub on January for my birthday. The food was good. But service was slow.
