We arrived just before 7.30pm and were seated but it took at least a further 5 minutes to receive a menu and drinks menu. We had been sat for one and a half hours before receiving our main course. We have been to Michelin starred restaurants before (Johns House in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire to name one) and The White Pheasant, in our opinion, was very very poor. Normally we would have tablecloths and place mats on the table if Michelin starred at least. Extremely poor value for money and that is why we didn't partake in a dessert. My small piece of salmon was burnt and to be quite honest the taste and presentation was nothing to rave about at all. Even the lemon drizzle gin didn't taste of anything but tonic water (not even a slice of lemon in the glass). I can quite understand the 4 people that walked out and in hindsight we should have followed too. On a positive note, staff were friendly apart from the person behind the bar who I don't think smiled all evening. Wishing we had gone to the chinese restaurant in the village as this was a total waste of money.
