The Woolpack - Tisch reservieren

The pub is very spacious and also has a massive outdoor seating area with plenty of places to sit. I've been in there a couple of times, usually for a drink or two while my wife gets her haircut down the road. However, this time we decided to have dinner there, unfortunately all the dishes we fancied were out of stock, no burgers, no chicken salads and more so we decided to get some starters to snack and share. I can't fault the food, it was all cooked nicely and what we got was enough between us but massive let down on the mains and so early into the evening. Which I suppose is a good sign? But order more food for your stock in future! Not overly priced but expect maybe a little bit more for my money. It appeared there was only one hardworking lady running around, taking orders, bringing out food and cleaning up. Yet, behind the bar was plenty of her colleagues standing around a lot. So seemed unfair but this made us wait to order, get a drink, pay for the bill etc... Hence the rather middle ground rating, along with the lack of options for food. Would go back but either order food earlier next time or just go somewhere and try something new.

This place was highly recommended to us. The food we had was lovely, really tasty and a good variety on the menu. The service is the reason for the low rating. On arrival we weren't told the specials or told what was unavailable, so when I came to ordering we had to pick something else. We asked for water for the table, twice. Our mains was sat on the pass for at least 10 minutes and our table wasn't cleared of the starter plates until they realised our food was ready. We weren't asked once how the food was. We had to ask for the bill twice and finally got it after asking another member of staff. The manager, I'm guessing, is good at looking busy but doing minimal work. Clocked off and still hadn't given us the bill. Would have got 4 or 5 stars if the staff and customer service was better. Not even the basics achieved.

The only remaining pub on the high street I do like it here but feel it could always do a bit better in all areas. Food is nice, but a little pricey, even with the current state of affairs. Staff are polite but don't look happy, and I know it's had the reno but outside (mainly the rear could be swept and looked a bit brighter. Won't stop me going but some room for improvement :

This pub is lovely. We popped in for a drink and had the most service. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are very friendly. The service is fast and you get feel very welcome in the establishment by the staff. We will be coming here for a meal in the new year. This pub is warm and homely and has very positive vibes. Thank you

Just love this place. As a local pub I don’t think you could beat it. Lovely atmosphere, beautiful outdoor seating and food is delicious. We love it so much we held our wedding here and it exceeded all of our expectations. Highly recommend
